has anyone been accepted to the james scholar program or asked for an interview for the honors program?

if so, when were u told?

I was accepted to the program for LAS. Got it in the mail a couple days ago from the dean. (Didn't interview or anything)

yeah has anyone in engineering been accepted yet? according to the website, to be accepted to the James Scholar Program in the school of engineering you just need:

"Freshmen admitted to the College of Engineering with an ACT composite score of at least 33, or SAT equivalent, are eligible to participate in the Freshmen James Scholar Program. Freshmen who do not initially qualify may apply after achieving a GPA of 3.3 or higher after one semester."

I have an ACT of 34 so I guess they haven't sent it yet for engineering...or they aren't using these standards lol.

33 ACT = xxxx on SAT?

Cubs-- I was wondering that too. I'm in ENG and also got a 34 and haven't heard anything yet. Is that the only criteria?

33 on the ACT equals roughly 1490 or 1500 on the SAT, but UIUC only requires 1450 on it to get into the James Scholar Program (http://jamesscholar.cen.uiuc.edu/fr_admis.php).

I have a 35 and I haven't heard anything either. The only thing I did get is an offer to attend SITE, which is a 3-day design contest and banquet at UIUC in February.

I was invited to SITE also, but I was a bad mad that it entailed missing 2 days of school, so I'm not going. Are you?

I'm not going either. Too much of a hassle plus it's not free.

warning: being a james scholar is more work than you expect.

^^Meaning What?^^

i got the invite for the college of business honors program to interview e-mail today =]

Some colleges at UIUC don't put you into James Scholar automatically. In FAA for example, you have to apply. I'm not sure about the others. The requirements for James Scholar are different for every college too (FAA isn't too bad)

You may be thinking about Campus Honors / Chancellor's Scholar. Only 125 incoming students are admitted-- and you can't apply to it (atleast not easily)
