My son is a junior in high school, currently considering The Ohio State Univ. We’ve seen reference to the Honors & Scholars Program, but are not sure we understand how the program works. Is it either / or, as in you have to apply to Honors OR to Scholars? Or can you apply to both? What is the difference between the Honors side versus the Scholars side? And then within each, there are quite a few communities to choose from. Can you apply to more than one (say, the business scholars and the law scholars) at the same time and make your choice from amongst those to which you are admitted, or are you restricted to choosing one?
So you can only apply to one from the beginning, however, you can apply to honors after your first semester. If you want to do Scholars, you have to apply from the beginning. Since I am in high school, someone else can comment more on what the differences are exactly. However, for scholars, you submit a preference for, ranking the 17 programs. Then won’t offer you the decision between two, but they will try their hardest to give you your top preference.
