Honors Track and Ivy League Admission

<p>I don’t think it is a good idea to fight with the administration. At a small private school, it is better to have them advocate for your kid. You son will need LORs and recommendation for various awards at his school. In reading through this thread, I think techymom is worrying too much. My kids never too any summer courses. They spent their summers pursuing ECs - ballet, photography, travel, piano…My older kid graduated with a math degree from Cornell and she never got beyond calculus in high school. I also don’t think APs can replace similar couses taken in college. If your kid wants to major in STEM, it is best if he were to take those fundamental courses in college instead of using AP credits to skip over them.</p>

<p>@oldfort: I agree with you. It is a very prestigious and large private school in the area! They are absolutely the best and I never had any issue with them. The teachers are amazing and the administration is simply superb! I am very confident if they see the student’s performance and hard work they will not hold him back from rising!</p>
