honors

and along the same lines as my last thread... could some recent honors admits post their stats?

3.6ish gpa unweighted. Respected prep school. No rank, but I'm not in Cum Laude- not even close. 4 APs- psych, mod euro, english lit, english lang. 2090 SAT- 730V, 630M, 730W. A bunch of clubs, a few honor societies, good leadership positions (they want kids who are active in their communities). My hooks: columnist for the Tampa Trib, and I have a good writing style (this post notwithstanding). The honors program focuses heavily on writing (which is probably what redeemed me. I'm usually a B student in math and science).

awesome... thanks for the reply... that is good for me then, because i'm basically inept in math and science...

bump please guys

4.1 weighted, crappy public school. like 17/350ish, 10 aps - calc ab/bc, physics b/c, english lit/lang, american/euro hist, us govt, micro econ. 2300 sat, 800m, 800v, 700w captain of academic team, a few other clubs/societies. Hooks: I dont really know, i'm a white guy who wrote about cooking an indian dinner, so thats something different.

what's your major, yargg? just curious, what lead you to SU?

Architecture. I looked a lot of places and honostly syracuse was pretty low on my list, but it had a top10( #5 actually) arch school and was on the tuition exchange with the school where my father teaches... So i visited, and loved it. The faculty and students who talked to us on the visiting students day were on par with any other school i visited. It came out as a close run between Syracuse and Carnegie Mellon, but when the financial aid letters came in, and the scholarship info came, about $200,000 helped point the way.
