Honors??

I was browsing through the courses and i see alot of courses have an Honors version of the same course. What does this mean? Can anyone do honors? Is it better? whats the purpose?

the only places i've seen / heard of honors classes are in the lower division math and science (physics) classes, like math 54H or physics7ah, 7bh. basically, they're exactly what you'd think they are - honors versions of the same course - and thus, they move much faster, and expand a great deal more in depth to the material and theory. it is better perhaps for those genius / hardworking / gifted students aiming high or having a true love for the discipline...and for those who are also up to the challenge.

i guess. actually I'm thinking that the honors version is more for those majors only or something. like physics h7a seems like its just for physics majors.
idk whatever haha

not necessarily. there are actually a large percentage of engineers who take h7a...as would be expected

The honors sequences are especially good for people who have already studied some of the material, for instance as an AP class or at community college or whatever, but want to learn it more in-depth. Also people intending to major in that subject. The classes are generally much smaller, so there is more chance to interact with the professor.
