Honors?

When are we supposed to be notified about honors? Someone called me and said it would come mid-April, but he also told me that financial aid would come then. Have the honors acceptees already been notified? I've seen some threads that mentioned honors waitlist. I'm out of state btw.

And on top of that, merit scholarships!

I would also like to know. Scholarship notifications are coming out this week and next week.
Have you received your FA yet?

Ya, I get a letter telling me how to check online.

can people who applied early still hear about merit money?

beignet

it is possible, but pretty unlikely.

Invitations into the residential honors program (the one where you live in Cobb)went out long ago for early action applicants. Don’t know about regular admission deadline folks. Program is kind of disorganized, though, so you might want to call.

The honors program is not residential.

So when are the honors/merit $ info released? Should be soon…? maybe?

When my d went to the Explore Carolina session on 3/2 they said 1 wave of Honors letters went out in early February but another wave of letters will be sent out in late March to early April.

Has anyone heard anything yet?
How big are the honors classes (average)? And how many people are invited?

Stargirl is right; it’s not residential - you don’t have to live in Cobb. I’m currently trying to decide whether I would want to live in Cobb or in South Campus… I

Actually, I applied early action, but I only got invited to the Honors program some weeks ago. My financial aid info was put on the website just yesterday (whoo-hoo!), but some people got theirs way before me, or are still waiting for it… Eh, so I guess very little in life is predictable. Lesson for today. Just kidding.

I forget how many people are invited. I’m sure it’s on the website. Was it 200? 300? I might be getting it mixed up with people who get scholarships…

Yeah, I checked online, it’s 200 people per year.
It’s now early April…

Still have not heard anything. Not a big deal though since anyone can take honors classes if there is enough room left in the class and can apply for honors after 1st semester. One of the speakers at the honors presentation at explore carolina said he was salutatorian of his class and had almost a perfect SAT and was not offered honors off the bat so he applied and got in. They seem to have something in particular they are looking for in honors and that may not necessarily being the highest test scores, but it probably doesn’t hurt.

I just received the honors invite today via regular mail. It was dated mid-march. Took it nearly a month to arrive…
