Hope is man's worst enemy

Hey all,

I was wondering if you guys could help me. My college advisors aren’t really much help. I just need some insight. I graduated high school and I’m currently at a local CC on schedule to graduate. I will be applying as a junior transfer. I have lost so much hope for applying because of my SAT score… can someone please help me in seeing what chances I stand in applying some of the universities I have listed below? I’m so paranoid and just really really worried.

SAT:1580/2400 (this saddens me to no end  )

My high school stats:

GPA weighted: 3.55769
GPA on a 4.0 Scale: 3.03846/4.0
Rank: 84/336 Percent: 25%

AP Classes I took: AP US History, AP World History, AP Language and Composition, AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, Engineering Design and Development (AP Weighted), Civil Engineering (AP Weighted)

My CC Stats:

Total Credits: 36
Mid-Term: All A’s 4.0/4.0 GPA
Current GPA: 4.0/4.0

Extra Circulars :
Tutored Children at local Elementary School
Working 2 Jobs
Was apart of National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)
Volunteered at local churches
Currently in 2 Honor societies in CC

Questions:

  • Will colleges still look at my high school stuff very harshly?
-It’s really hard to fill up EC Activities when you work 2 jobs, so what would be some good advice as far as EC’s?
  • The dreaded SAT score… It’s my Achilles heel… would this impact my application significantly? what are the impacts it has?

What are my chances of transferring into colleges such as GWU, Georgetown, UPenn, any Ivys? What can I do to strengthen my application?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance for taking some time to help me.
