My brother lives and goes to school in Georgia. He was awarded the HOPE scholarship after completing his freshman year in college because he had a 4.0 GPA. I am a freshman now and also go to a college in Georgia. I also have the HOPE scholarship. My question is will I have to reapply for the scholarship if I have a GPA higher than 3.0 or will it automatically be added to my financial aid for next year since I have it this year. In other words, if I maintain a 3.0 GPA will HOPE automatically cover 90% of my tuition or do I have to reapply every year for HOPE?

It use to be automatic but with the new HOPE, I am not sure. It may depend on your school. I know some Georgia colleges are holding sessions on campus for current students to answer questions about HOPE. I would look out for one of those or contact your financial office as you get close to the first checkpoint of 30 hours.
