GoWhiteMules, I hope you are still reading this forum and can answer some questions about the wait list.

Any indication yet if Colby will go to the wait list this year? How many accepted a spot on the wait list? If offered a spot off of the wait list, how will I be notified and how long will I have to respond?

Its says in this article that last year they accepted 10 students from the waitlist, but that may become 25 or 30 this year. Not sure about your other questions, but I hope the article helps a little.

Hello klm8500. In regards to your question about the wait list for this year, we do not yet have a sure answer to if we will need to take students from the wait list, or how many students we may take. If we do take students from the wait list, we will not make any decisions until the week of May 1. In the week of May 1 we will start making phone calls to students to let them know if they have been admitted off the wait list, and speak to them about the process, including letting them know how long they have to respond. We try our best to wrap up the entire wait list process by mid-June.

Please see the link below for a FAQ about our wait list policy:

ColbyAdmissions,
Now that May 1st has past, do you have any idea if the wait list will be used this year?
When will those of us on the wait list be informed of our final decision?

Additionally, how many people actually accepted spots on the wait list this year?

I do have the same questions as pianokid. Also just wondering, if I don’t live in the US, say I got admitted, will Colby send an email along with calling me?

On the Parents’ Forum, someone said her D got a call and got in off the waitlist. Don’t know if others have been contacted or if they’re still using it.

Yeh, they’ve been admitting people off of the wait list since May 6th. Some people reject and some people accept. It’s a long process so just hang tight and wait for your emails. All the best.

@slegolas does that mean they are contacting everyone on the waitlist to let them know they will not be accepting anyone off the waitlist? Interestingly, on the website they already have the admissions stats for the class of 2015.

At this point we will not be taking more than a small group off the wait list. Final decisions will be made early next week. If you are selected off the wait list, you are typically contacted via phone. Again, no more than a handful of people are being pulled up. You will receive official notice by mail once we close the wait list.
