<p>If you have mediocre grades but extenuating circumstances, will colleges take that in mind? Say you have B's and C's one year, then mediocre grades the next because of the same problems, what will the result be? Especially if for the remaining years you get straight A's, take extra classes, so on and so forth etc, etc.</p>
<p>I have the same thing going on with me, but i've heard it doesn't make THAT much of a difference in applying unless its something really big, so i'd bring it up in your essay possibly, without trying to sound like you're trying to hard to force an excuse.</p>
