I saw the recent posts on BU’s Hospitality School. I was wondering if their admissions differs from the other schools like Cornell. Does the GPA, and SAT become a big factor for admissions or do they look for your passion. My stats will be 3.4 GPA, 1900 SATs, Good ECs, and 800+ Hours at Hilton.

Yes, GPA and SAT matters a lot, which is reasonable b/c BU is a very large school -- they want to pry as much money from the students as possible.

If you can, definitely shoot for a higher SAT, that can definitely help your chance . Right now I'd say that BU is a slight reach/high match for you. But if your SAT is 2000-2100, your chance can increase tremendously.

my gpa would be redeemed if i get a higher sat?

I'm not quite sure how higher grades and test scores = prying more money, but . . . your grades and scores are lower than the average for BU as a whole. I don't know how they compare to applicants to SHA and BU doesn't break out that info. Every school considers relevant experience and "passion" in admissions or at least they say they do.

I guess what I meant didn't make much sense. I meant to say that they give financial aid/scholarships based largely on SAT score & gpa. But yes, Jimgotkp, I have a friend who got 2100 SAT and a 3.3 gpa and another one back in high school with 1800 SAT and 3.6 gpa. First one got in with a half scholarship, second one got waitlisted (I didn't know the story after that).
