Honest answer I lived in Spencer, IN about 20 min fromBloomington everyone there is great. Much nicer thanthe folks living up here in Michigan. The school has an absolutly BEAUTIFUL campus especially during the spring and summer. I miss the warm weather. I am thinking about doing the program too since IU is one of my top schools. So my question to the folks on this thread details about the program what is like you know general questions.

AimHigh most of the people in Bloomington are extremely nice and would do anything for. This is a personaly expirience of mine so there is alittle something to ease your mind.

WOW......let me say one thing, i can see myself attending IU for 4 years and having a great time. I just came back from visiting Bloomington and man when i first got off the shuttle, i felt like a tourist! all smiling and taking pics with mi camera phone ha. nice campus, prety nice laid back people and I actually got a lot of input from current IU students through my host who also gave me his input. basically, i was a "IU" student for the day and i followed my host around, went to classes with him ( prety interesting btw, the professors seem to like their subjects and one professor was very interactive with class, trying to get them into discussions and stuff). One of my host's professor was REALLY cool, it was a logics class and the class was very tired and stuff ( about 35 people inthe class?) and she made everyone stand up and exercises and jump up and down, i admire a professor that would do that cuz their laid back and down to earth. wen i visited it was SUPEr cold man their was snow and stuff and obviously since im california i was like touching the snow and my host is like man what are you doin? and hes o yea lol your're from california lol. Well tats prety much it, overall it was nice and i liked it but one weird thing is, i always thought the campus was HUGe and spread out but its actually smaller and the buildings are more closer than ya think, everything is prety much walking distance and theirs free IU bus rides (all day on weekeneds typically) for students which is cool. O btw i dont know about you gusy but i saw the dorms in NW and from hearing what IU students say, NW is like the party dorms and most likely ima switch to central cuz tats where my host was and i tink its more balanced academicaly and socially (kids actually study when they have to) FYI, my host said it doesnt matter what neighborhood you're in, if you're freshman than whatever neighborhood you're in, you're in the freshman dormitory (my host was a freshman). Another important thing is that, although each neighborhood has some kind of reputation or theme, my host said that doesn't mean ALL the kids are like that well obviously but he said there's usually a sizable proportion (again probaly not all) that give off that reputation in regards to the dorms they are in. I hope my experience helps you guys cuz i know it helped me :) now i know for sure that IU is my #1 choice 100% :)

btw from what ive heard, mcnutt is also known as mcslut LOL so yea im sure you gusy know what im talking about.

Hey does anyone know the dates for the HOST program or is just any weekend you can get down there becasue I have had issues trying to get in touch with the people at the office that run the program.

Wow, Shorty, I completely missed the updated thread, and your message to me. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the note, I'm sure my son will do fine. He's well liked and known by everybody and he's in a large high school (4,600 students). If he was going to an east coast school, I'd have more concerns.

I'm glad everyone is nice - it sounds like your experience has been very good, and I appreciate your taking the time to share that with me!
