Hot Plates

Incoming Freshman here. I enjoy cooking, but unfortunately my incoming residence hall doesn’t have a kitchen/kitchenette . I’d rather not walk to a different building whenever I’m trying to eat healthier and I don’t want to eat in the DC everyday. I know hot plates are not allowed, but people break rules all the time. How common is it for people have hot plates?

One of my roommates had one and used it all the time. She never got caught and nobody ever commented on it.

Just don’t cause damage and don’t use it when you know the prying eyes of your RA(s) are watching, and you should be fine. And if it turns out you have a nosy/snitch-y roommate, I would avoid using it around them.
