I'm visiting Duke in Nov. and was wondering if anyone could recommend a place near campus? thx

My son stayed at the Millenium when he went to blue devil days last year. It was $89. It is close to campus, and I think they have a shuttle. It is walkable to campus. There are a couple hotels closer, but are more expensive. There is a hotel right across the street from east campus, not sure of the name.

I’m not sure if this is the one stevem1928 is trying to recall, but we stayed at The King’s Daughters Inn in June which is very near east campus.

(Very happy to post after lurking for weeks!)

Yes, the hotel right next to east campus is Kings Daughter. I knew it had a royal name. During move in week they were all booked up. I think the rate was over $200.

I’ve stayed at the Millennium. They do have a shuttle that is convenient and the restaurant had great food, but our room and service were terrible from beginning to end.

The Washington Duke Inn is right on campus, surrounded by the Duke golf course.

We stayed at the Brookwood Inn for move in days and will be staying there again for Parent’s weekend. It is very close to campus, right next to Duke Medical Center - $81/night the first time and price increase for Parent’s weekend $99! Very nice hotel.

We also stayed at the Brookwood Inn for move-in and will be there for parents weekend. Very convenient and good value!!!

We stayed in the Washington Duke Inn, Milennium and the Brookwood Inn. I would recommend the Washington Duke Inn, if money is not an issue. The Milennium has slightly better rooms than the Brookwood Inn, but the later is in a slightly better location. If you are choosing from these two, go for the best rate.

On West Campus (therefore, eliminating all parking issues), Duke’s Fuqua School of Business operates the R. David Thomas Center for Executive Education. It may have very nicely appointed rooms available, dependent upon projected requirements for executive education and non-residential/part-time MBA student lodging.
