Hotel Prices For Moving Day

<p>Just a heads up for any parents who are planning on staying at a local hotel before moving their kid out of the dorms for the year -- hotel prices seem to be much higher than usual for that weekend.</p>

<p>I usually stay at the Spring Hill Suites in Albany for about $110 a night, but it's up to $179 for May 19th. I guess there's a lot of demand that weekend. Instead I tried out Priceline's bidding thing and actually did get a similar type hotel for $95 plus fees, but I have a feeling the rooms in the area are going to be scarce that weekend.</p>

<p>We have stayed at the La Quinta inn in Latham. It is about 10 minutes from the school.</p>

<p>It is about 5 years old and clean. It works for us.</p>

<p>Right now, the website shows $102 for May 19 - $93 with AAA.</p>

<p>Hope this helps anyone who is looking for a room during move out.</p>
