Hotel recommendations?

Taking my daughter to visit NC State. Can anyone recommend a good hotel close to the school?

Stayed here once a few years ago, and it was fine. It’s not the cheapest, but it is the closest to campus. You can leave your car parked at the hotel and walk to campus:

If I want inexpensive, I stay at LaQuinta at RDU airport, and drive 10 minutes to campus. Its newly remodeled, and offers a simple breakfast bar for free:

Last year, we stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton at the Airport. It is a nice hotel for business travel. It has a reasonable priced menu and serves food until 2 am. A fitness center and pool are on site. It took me about 15 minutes to get to the hotel after our school visit.

I’ll second the Doubletree. The Four Points was out of reach for me when I was tying to book. The Double tree is also very convenient.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites on Creedmore. Short 10 minute drive to campus.

We generally stay in the Crabtree Mall area - the Embassy Suites on Creedmore is in that same area. Most major brands are there. Personal preference for me is the Homewood Suites. What I like about it is that you can pretty much get from Crabtre to campus and stay off the freeway.

For walking distance, there is also an Aloft set to open soon (next week?). Not the cheapest option, but looks pretty cool.

The Aloft will be the closest when done, right across from the Belltower and next to North Hall (dorm). It’s supposedly due to open mid-October, but I was there last weekend, and it still looks like a mess.
