Hotel Savings in Tally

You may want to check out Priceline if you're interested in a little gamble that may save you quite a bit of cash!

I got a room for 2 nights at the Residence Inn (for orientation) just a couple of blocks from FSU for only $50 per night. (That same room goes for $179 per night through Marriott.) For 2 1/2 stars I thought that was a pretty sweet deal!

Just thought I'd pass that on, if anyone is looking at lodging for orientation and enjoys getting a big bang for their buck!

Great info!

It is really hard to get a room for parent's weekend. If you are planning to go, book it now.

when is it?

Well maybe the schedule for 2008 is not out yet but book it as soon as you find out when it is (if you are coming). The hotels fill up for Parent's Weekend.

Here is the 2007 link so you can see the types of activities they plan: fsu.edu | Parents' Weekend 2007

Yep - Priceline is definitely the way to go.

I have used it on several occasions and we've always been happy. The Marriott on Gaines by the school is within walking distance of the stadium and actually the rooms go for over $300 on game weekends, but we've stayed there 2 times this season and once during orientation and each time only paid $50.00.

We've also stayed at the DoubleTree downtown and the new Holiday Inn & Suites up on Monroe by I-10.

All three hotels are gorgeous and we've been very happy.
