I go to a really competitive public school in California.

I'll have pretty good/okay essays. One rec should be really good from my orchestra teacher since he's known me four years. mmm. other should be okay.

Yeah, basically, that's it =]]

THANKS A LOT.

w00t w00t finally a NORMAL person. your stats remind me of mine, except I'm not a Hotelie. But we're supposed to make fun of Hotelies here-so haha you're a prospective Hotelie!

thanks...? HAHA.

hey ill update my stats in a while but i dont have the patience right now....we are kind of similar password!

wow. just wow. password your getting into purdue and cornell. me however would get rejected if stats like this is needed for purdue also.. holy..

hahaha. i think i'm okay for purdue, but maybe not cornell. Cause of my 3 Cs, and numerous B. Also, I'm doing an off-campus interview.

i have like 5 C's and some D's which is going to kill me. but im doing an on-campus. hopefully before school starts. man... im just scared.

umm...so we should put up our stats on this thread too?

GPA: 3.7 UW, 4.1 W

AP: Psychology (3), Calc AB (4). Taking Econ and Stats this year

I basically took really generic classes in HS, but some classes I took at the local community college:
-Real Estate Principles, RE Practices, Personal Finance, Psychology, Business Info Systems, Financial Accounting

Classes at Cornell: LTMC (the 3 week hospitality program)[B+], Cognitive Science **

Subway Restaurant (same exact place as password! =D): 4 months

Statler Hotel: 3 months (summer) in the Banquets and Housekeeping department

ACT: 27 composite, Math IIC: 660 =(

ECs: ASB (schoolwide) Treasurer + other positions in the past 3 years, FBLA VP, volunteered at the Ithaca Science center and at my local YMCA

Recs: one from LTMC professor, one from really cool teacher I've had for 2 years in a row

Additional Recs: Manager from Statler

damn. you're SOOO lucky you have all these connections right from statler and cornell. I honesetly think you have a HECKA good chance =]]

Oh yeah, I took Intro to Visual ARts at my Community college (deanza college) this summer. Got an A. yay? It's not really hotel oriented.

yeah... im just going to the subway you guys work in and munch on my grilled sub.. meanwhile you guys get your acceptance letters and i get a big fat rejected sign on my letter..

optimism is key :)

i think pessimism is key. whenever im optimistic of a grade like in the sats, school stuff i get a bad grade. but whenever im pessimistic i get a good grade unless i know i bombarded it. :(

hahahhaha. yeah. I had a dream that I got into cornell, and I woke up and I was like, "DAMN. why am I so happy?" then i remembered. -___-

lol. man. i hope the sat 2 math though doesnt count that much since people say sat math IC is useless im taking the IIC. the IIC is just like blah blah blah to me when I see it. I totally forgot all the stuff from pre calc and trig last year... i threw all my notes out too the last day of school... :(

come on! other ppl post your stats too =]

yeah...i concur.

ahhhhhhh patience!

Copied from my other thread:

My stats cut short:
GPA:
3.85-ish (Tied for rank 1)

SAT:
CR: 550 M: 720 W: 750 Total: 2020 (Will definitely retake)
Mandarin: 800 Math Level 2: 670 (Will retake) (And I also have a 470 in World History, I think it will be covered up since I already have two scores? Correct me if I'm wrong and if I must retake.)

Activities:
Public Relations Officer, Vice President, President of the Student Government
President, Founder of Aiding China Community Service Club
Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook Committee
President, Founder, Champion of the Chess Club
Founder of the Drama Club
Team Manager of Varsity Basketball
Member of Varsity Soccer
Member of Varsity Volleyball
(and a bunch of insignificant inconsistent activities, meaning I didn't participate in them for at least 3 years.)

Others
200+ Service hours @ Veterans Affair hospital and the typical park cleanups, fundraisers, etc.

And I assume I'll have decent recommendations and essays.

And I have no work experience, besides working for my dad and at a hospital, though I am a good criticizer of hotels xP (which is a completely irrelevant statement :( )
I will be writing 800 words in place of an interview -_-
And I'm deciding between AEM or the hotel school
ED. Also my only "reach" school.

oohh. what's up witht he 800 words instead of an interview thing? i thought it was really required.
