What do they ask you about? Where do you meet? How does the interview work? If anyone can tell me as much as they know, that would be awesome.

Yeah.. I was wondering who the interviewer would be. Cause my friend got into cornell for this fall and he told me his interviewer was a mech. engineering major and that other kids in the school had him also. but i wonder if the hotel school's interviewer differs..

The Hotel School interviewers are usually professors, alumni, or admissions councelors of the Hotel school.

Depending on if you want an on campus interview, or off campus interview, the location varies.

thanks ill prob hav off

are those who opt for the off-campus interview at a disadvantage? would the admissions committee interpret this as a lack of "interest" in the school? i'd love to visit and have an interview on campus, but the airfare and lodging would be too expensive.

Im sure there are exceptions, but they straight out say that on-campus interviews are preferred.

I dont know whether or not you're at a disadvantage, but out of all the admitted Hotelies ive met here at Cornell this summer (about 20 or so), only 3 of them had their interviews off campus....I dont think they trust their alumni too much, since strictness/ generosity can vary among them by a lot.

shoot.. then I think I should do an interview mad early in advanced like first saturday or week of September. before I get wrecked by Marching Band time :(

yeah...i'm in colorguard. MB season + homecoming season = no time off -__-

band president + saxophone section leader + homecoming season = no time off also :( so im going to try to pull in an interview before sept. 10 when school starts.
