Hotel school

What is the most important part of the application for the school of hotel administration? Is it the interview, recs., essay, SAT scores?
Also, is it possible to double major in hotel management and maybe accounting or finance??

anybody want to reply??

Yummi, I am a freshman in the hotel school. I think that dedication to the industry is one of the top items that the admission board looks at. It would probably help you if you get a job in some area of the hospitality industry. Then I think that it goes grades --> interview --> SAT. Im not sure where the essay falls in the line.

As for double major, I am 95% sure that you cannot double major in the hotel school. however, you can get your degree with a concentration in finance. The list of the concentrations is at

Hope this helps... and good luck. Its really a lot of fun here.

thanks for the information. I wasn't very sure whether we could double major. A dean had told me we could when I went for the interview, but then a student told me we couldn't, so I got a little confused. Anyways, if I decide to focus on the finance aspect, will my diploma mention that my concentration was finance or will it just say hotel management?

im not a 100% sure but i do believe that it will say that you recieved a concentration in Finance

thanks for all the info. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do yet, so I just wanted to keep my options open. I am pretty sure its something along the lines of business/hotel management.
