We are going for week so I am not looking to spend $120+ for each night. Has anyone stayed at the Rodeway Inn and how is that? I want clean and comfortable.

Anyone try Priceline, and if so, which hotel did you get for 3 stars?

Anyone try Priceline, and if so, which hotel did you get for 3 stars?

Have not yet tried Priceline, but we've booked Hampton Inn in downtown Wooster at $89 a night. Of course, that could have changed by now, but as of a few months ago, that was the price. The Hilton Spring Garden (?) is also a great hotel in Wooster, usually about $99 a night for a double.

Hindoo, Thanks. The prices have increased. I don't recall, but I think it was $107 for both of those (something close to that anyway). If I have to pay it I will. Do you know anything about the Rodeway Inn? It is at least $30 less for each night.

Have you asked for the AAA (Auto Club) prices? That usually knocks off $10 a night--if you're a Triple A member. Also, in my case (over 50!) AARP membership gives you a discount at these hotels, as well. ... I don't know anything about the Rodeway Inn. I do know that Wooster has a Super 8 that is somewhat less expensive, but I've never stayed there. There's also a Best Western in town, very close to campus. Not sure about the prices, but I stopped in the lobby one day and it smelled like a dank old hotel, straight out of the '50s. So, I trotted on down the road to Hampton Inn. Good luck finding a place to stay. And let us know about the Rodeway Inn, if you end up staying there.

Yes, I did get my AAA and AARP quotes. Both places are at $107 right now. I'll just deal with it in the next few days. I'll ask DH if he prefers to go without a reservation and wing it, pay the $107, or head for Rodeway. I have not tried looking at Priceline yet either. Thanks Hindoo.

don't know much about the rodeway inn, northeastmom. the best western is really close to campus, maybe 2 minutes by car on average and depending on how the traffic is. the super 8 looks to be in fair shape, but sometimes shabby.

i would definately recommend the hilton, very nice. the hampton inn is pretty good as well. you could also try looking into the wooster inn, though it's more of a bed and breakfest type of place than a hotel, but equally accomadating.

I don't know about the Roadway Inn, but I bet someone has rated it on TripAdvisor (my holy grail of travel sites!)

Have a great trip.

Thanks everyone. I decided that I am going to not to stay at Rodeway, though they did get nice reviews. mallomar, I did use TripAdvisor as well as reviews on Priceline to help me out. I am not sure where I am staying, but it will be Hilton Gardens or Hampton in Wooster.

You can't go wrong with either Hilton Gardens or Hampton Inn. My husband seems to prefer the Hilton while I prefer Hampton--the big difference to me being that Hampton offers a delightful and free breakfast bar, while the Hilton charges pretty heftily for their breakfasts. They are on opposite ends of town from each other, equidistant from the College, and both have excellent amenities. The Hampton is situated along a rather homely stretch of chain stores/restaurants, and very near the local Wal Mart, so, it's convenient if you need something.

I think for convenience we'll try Hampton first in that case. Thanks.
