What can anyone tell me about them?

I know they are a big IB. My nephew is considering an offer from them among others.

No one has any information on what it is like to work for them or anything else?

Well you have to give more details. Is he doing restructuring, where HL is one of the top shops in middle market. What location is the offer for. what are the other offers?

I wouldnt say they are a big IB, but they are one of the top MM shops

boys, I pm’d you about them.

thanks mhmm-- I pm’d you back

trapezius–he is given his choice of offices, I think. He wants to do health care, and for personal reasons, he would like to go to Chicago office as his base because it is likely his GF will be in med school there.

he is being wined and dined by several shops, but he liked the HL people the most. Said they had the best conversations.

boys – I pm’ed again.
trapezius – I am somewhat perplexed about your rationale for giving advice on working at financial firms, given that you are a first year medical student, or a premed?

thanks mhmm.

I’ve seen them on a number of restructuring deals, and they also do a ton of fairness opinions, but they’re not really considered a top place for traditional M&A advisory. But, as someone above said, they’re a solid MM/boutique shop.

By the way, I would definitely not choose a place just because you had the “best conversation” with some of the people there. There are a lot of other more important things to consider given this is mostly likely a short/2 year program.

Also, if he has NYC offers, I would strongly advise against the Chicago move. That’s definitely not the place where you want to start your IB career.
