I cannot easily find this information on this board and am hoping someone can provide a shortcut to the info for me and others. D newly admitted - yay!

Can someone summarize (or point to a link about) the situation with BC housing? What is the quick story? What should incoming students do/know about? Any strategies? Assume no guarantee of 4 years housing.

How do you access the financial aid info? We clicked around on their pages for a long time and never found anywhere to input the financial aid key code so don’t know what, if anything, she has been awarded. Has the FA come out for the new admits yet?
Thanks!
the financial aid packages are available online starting Monday they said, not sure about the rest of ur questions.
Housing will be fine no matter where you go as a freshmen and sophomore. Honestly, hope for Newton because the community is legitimately closer than on upper. In terms of roommates, going random is fine if you’re a pretty laidback person, but if you’re picky with stuff, maybe hit up the BC 2022 group page
Thank you both. So what is the scoop with housing not being guaranteed? Thinking about my daughter in some apartment in the middle of Boston in the next few years is a bit intimidating to me. I also read something about them creating triples out of double rooms?
@3littlebirds BC has never had enough housing for everyone and so guarantees 3 years for most students, with the off-campus year always being junior year. (It was this way 30 yrs ago too.) From reading the recent posts, it sounds like more kids get 4 years guaranteed than in the old days.
There are tons of student apartments nearby and a frequent, brief shuttle bus ride from campus to these areas (Comm Ave, Cleveland Circle). I have no recollection of how we handled the logistics of getting an apt, but it was totally fine - I was in a third-floor walkup with two other girls. I would have no problem with my daughter doing the same.
Housing in a nutshell…don’t get your heart set on a sophomore 8 man or a senior mod and you won’t be too disappointed. Seriously though, there are plenty of places for juniors to live right off campus if you don’t get 4 years of housing. The housing overall is pretty nice and Newton is really great for making friends. For financial aid, check the agora portal on Monday, there should be a link to view your status.
