Hey guys, anyone know how this works? It says "if you receive an offer of housing" you can accept it or something. When do we get these things? Or do we have to register somewhere first. As far as the application to admission is concerned I put down that I will be living in university housing.

Once you’re accepted to McGill, you get to rank your choice of residences by order of preference. This includes choosing between single and double rooms. So if your 1st choice is full, they consider your 2nd choice, etc… Other than that no idea.

The housing menu will become available (to quote Minerva) “at the end of February”… so should be some time soon.
This is how it works:
You list all the different options (which res, single or double, en suite etc) in order of your preference
at the end of the application period (may I believe) McGill’s system will RANDOMLY assign everyone who applied a number (1 - how ever many people there are e.g 2000)
The lower your number → the better chance of getting your first choice since rooms are then allocated in numerical order according to the randomly assigned numbers… like a lottery system
Once this process is complete you will be notified which of your choices you have been successful in attaining (I hear most people get one of their top 3, though not all obviously)

Yeah just saw. Btw how do you where your course is situated? I mean like whether its Downtown or in the McDonald campus? Honestly whats the difference between the two ?

Most faculties are in the downtown campus, included Arts & Sciences. MacDonald campus is only for the faculty of agriculture and environmental science…
