I got accepted to UCSD and on the admit package they sent me, it says I can apply for housing without having to submit my SIR. I went to myapplication.ucsd.edu to try and apply for housing, but I could not find it, so I just clicked around, and now it shows me being part of the acceptance process. I am now at Step 3. Accept UCSD's offer of admission and submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). There is no button for declining and it doesn't seem like there's a way to back out. There are a few more steps, but I have to either "pay electronically" or "pay by mail" to get there. Myapplication.ucsd.edu will just lead me back to this step where it says "Continue to Statement of Intent to Register."

How do I apply for housing without submitting SIR because I don't plan on submitting it until April?

I have the same problem here. Maybe we should just need to wait a day or two for UCSD to update the website and add the link or something like that?

I received my package in the mail and it says:
“Apply for Housing even before you decide to SIR at UCSD. There’s no fee to apply, and no penalty if you decide not to attend . . . Go to my application.ucsd.edu and complete the online application. Your housing assignment will be determined by application date, college of registration, and room type preference. The deadline is May 1 so don’t wait - do it today.”

But it seems like I will have to submit SIR before applying for housing…
This is so confusing!!!
Does anyone know how to reserve the housing without submitting SIR?

I read the directions and it said to apply as soon as you are admitted, no need to SIR first, but I just get the endless loop back to the application status page no matter what “apply now for housing” link I click.

Has anyone been able to sign up? If so, can you tell us how you did it and what links you clicked on? Thanks!

I did this too! I already emailed them hoping that they’d let me go back. I mean the information on the first two steps was fine. I’m just unsure of why we can’t leave the acceptance process.

@CaramelFlan. Sure. I would also advise you doing the same (emailing them), because the more people they see with this issue, the more they will be prompted to provide a solution. You can click contact us if you have any questions on the page you get after you login to send them a message. Just tell them what you said in the beginning OP.

I have the same problem! I was just browsing the website and somehow ended up on Step 3. Can you please let us know if you find a solution to leave the acceptance process?

We anticipate the housing application to be available by tonight or first thing in the morning. Please use the link in the letter you received to access the application at that time.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

UC San Diego Housing Administrative Services

What letter are they referring to? The acceptance letter in the mail or email? Because I haven’t received either but it says I was accepted online…

It works now. When you log onto the website, on the top right there’s a tab that says “Housing” and if you hover over it, then it will say “Housing Application.”
