My s is attending NU in the fall - does anyone know about when in July housing is assigned as well as roommate matches? S is away this summer and not sure if his notification will come to home email, snail mail or his NU email. Thanks! We are trying to plan a dorm room needs list with him.

It is sent during the first week of August

i believe they came out august 3rd last yr…ugh i wish it was earlier…i hate waiting >:(

Thanks Bandie and Smarty!

Email, for the record.

And the only thing you need to coordinate with the room-mate is who buys the fridge (recommend whoever is driving/ car distance/ staying the summer).

I really can’t wait to find out who my roommate is! I actually can’t wait to find out where I’m staying, too. I had some issues with the housing form and I didn’t get to submit it until the day after it was due, but when I called they said they hadn’t even started looking at the applications yet.

Don’t need to buy the refrigerator - there’s a great rental company that delivers in Sept. and picks up in June. Why buy for one year?

Since you’ll likely wan’t a fridge the following year too? And the next? And the next? And they’re highly re-sellable too… The rental company usually charges like $50 dollars, that’s half the price of a new one. Think about it…

Only if you stay on campus all four years. We rented and were very happy for it.

I’m off campus and I have use of my fridge. I store beverages in it separate from the main fridge, since food for 4.5 people fills our main fridge.

In terms of the fridge…

Makes no sense to rent and full sense to buy if you’ll be on campus for more than one year. Plus, like arbiter said, there’s use for a fridge once you move off too. Or you can re-sell it. Plus then you don’t have to worry about communicating with the rental company, etc. And if somehow your mini-fridge gets muddied up (like mine did with my messy roommate freshman year), you don’t have to pay rental fees for damage if you’ve purchased it. To me, there are countless reasons you’d want to purchase and only one or two you wouldn’t want to. But…to each his own.

Yargh! Since last year the e-mail came on the 3rd (a Monday), I was hoping today was the day. But since it’s already 5:00 PM and no e-mail…I’m thinking no.

I did get 3 e-mails (one to my NU mail, and one to my Gmail) about billing things, which I’d already dealt with. What a tease!

^ hahah same here perididdle
I was checking it on my phone and got all excited till bam Billing stuff. yuck

hey if any of u are in weinberg…the advisor’s name is on caesar. you can figure out your seminar that way and certain seminars correspond to certain dorm halls. im in shepard

Thanks for the tip, smarty99~

I’m in Shepard too! I don’t actually remember putting it down as a choice though haha. I don’t remember my list at all :P

Anyone else have Waxenbaum as their advisor?

haha yup waxenbaum is my advisor too! guess we’ll be seeing each other quite a bit oceanangel :)

Darn, the emails aren’t out yet…I’m in engineering so I can’t check the advisor on caesar…as we don’t have that.

It seems clear to me they have dorms selected if the info is out there…so where’s mah e-mail? School of Communication people want to know, too!

Going to be refreshing every half hour today…

on the facebook group, someone said they called northwestern and they said we’ll get decisions friday or saturday. we are the largest freshman class and the new construction is causing delays…i hope they’re wrong… i rly wanna know my roomie!
