Housing Bill?

I recently received my bill for tuition, fees, and meal/flex plan, but there were no room costs on it. Does that bill come separately? My scholarship pays for all of it, but I just wondered if we see that amount on another bill.

Have you already registered for classes? I haven't received any sort of bill yet but also won't go to CTOPS until a few more weeks.

soyboy, same thing for me. i got my bill as well with everything except housing... i also have a full scholarship, so i don't know. unfortunately i don't have an answer, but i thought you might feel better knowing you're not alone :)

Thanks, citymiddle -- they must send housing separately since both of our bills came that way. cs08 -- I went to the second CTOPS and registered. I think I read that the bills come out in several batches at the end of June and beginning of July. Have you looked at meal plans yet? I found it really helpful to go to the dining section on the school website before I went to CTOPS and then to sign up for one during mealtime at the computers in Lenoir -- people were right there to help explain about flex, etc. After you register, you can also sign up to "pre-buy" books -- The bookstore will look at your courses, select the books needed for your classes (giving you first-dibs on used) and have the box waiting for you at the bookstore so you don't have to go through the hassle -- I was really impressed with how well organized and student-friendly everything is.

can you "pre-buy" books online?

You can pre-buy online as a freshman or transfer student by going to the main bookstore site. There's a pre-order button to the left. You can pay with a charge card or have it put on your student account.

Does anyone remember what the policy is for pre-ordering books if you change classes during drop/add? I know they told us at CTOPS, but now I can't remember. Will they change your books for you up to a certain date?

If you want to save money, don't pre buy, get your stuff at Ram Books on Franklin. If you want to save time, pre buy them.

Or if you really want to save money and know the ISBN numbers of textbooks well ahead of time, check out half.com, a subsidiary of ebay although not an auction site like ebay. half.com is also a great place to buy current fiction and non-fiction at really reduced prices.
