Housing/Communities and Meal Plan

Wouldn't that be a good thing?

My opinion on the dorms:

Day/Flint: I lived up on the mount freshman year there is a huge stairway you have to walk up to in order to get back to your dorm which sucks but I thought the dorms were nice and you are like 5 min from the quad for when you oversleep and have to run to make your test. Living on the Mount is pretty sweet for freshman year.

BBB: the rooms and food is great but I think the location is bad you have a huge uphill walk to class and are right next to the city if I had to choose I wouldn't stay down there.

Lawrinson/Sadler: these are right next to each other. Lawrinson is kind of old and dumpy I wouldn't recommend it plus at least last year was co-ed by floor which I think would suck. Sadler seems pretty nice you are the closest to the Dome. Both have a decent hike to class compared to other dorms.

Shaw: I think its the best freshmen dorm its nothing flashy but you have a great dining hall thats right inside the building and is open later than the rest. You are also the closest to classes.

Sky halls (South Campus): people that live there don't seem to mind it but I would think taking a bus to class and the main campus would suck.
Thats most of the freshmen dorms

Food: I think 19 is too much you probably won't use them all and will waste money but its up to you. The next one down would probably be better.

It honestly seems like NO ONE ever knows about the hidden gem that is Marion/Kimmel Halls (They're really 2 separate 3-story buildings treated as one complex)

In my opinion, It's the best location on campus besides Watson Hall. It's a short walk from practically EVERYTHING (The Quad, Marshall Street, Newhouse, Whitman, etc. etc.) And It's only 3-floors so you don't have to wait for elevators or walk up 10+ flights of stairs to get to your room.

****BUT, Although Marion/Kimmel is the best location, the aesthetics suck big time. I felt that I had a harder time meeting new people because it's such a small dorm. Places like BBB, Flint, and Day are Awesome for socializing since the majority of Freshmen are housed there. So if your list of priorities are Location, Location, Location, then Marion/Kimmel would be perfect. But if you really want to meet as many people as possible STAY AWAY. lol
