Housing...confused

Okay, I’m confused.

I have yet to submit my SIR to one of the UCs (I’m torn between LA and Cal) but I heard that the longer it takes for you to submit your SIR, the faster the “good” housing is taken and the laggers (like me…but I have a good reason) end up with the ****ty dorms?

I don’t know. Everyone’s just been talking about that, and I’m super confused.

Can someone clear this up for me?

It doesn't matter when you submit housing to UCLA. Same chance as everyone else as long as it's done by the deadline.

UCLA only or...all the UCs?

I know only about UCLA. Housing procedures vary. I mean, SD lets you apply for housing before accepting unlike UCLA.

All the UCs. From now on, if people are going to say "I've heard...", please, for the love of god, tell us where you heard that from. There's been so much misinformation from the "I've heard" stuff.

According to welcome day, UCSD goes on a first-come-first-serve basis.
