Housing fee $300 confused?

So I've been accepted, and I have heard that the earlier you apply for housing, the better. To apply for housing, I need a $300 deposit, but it says that:

"The housing deposit is $300. This deposit will be refunded if your housing application is declined. This money will remain deposited with the University as long as you are housed or are on the waiting list."

Does that mean that I can decline the housing offer and get my $300 back? I'm asking this because I am still not 100% sure I'll attend A&M in the fall (perhaps, not even 20% sure). I don't want to waste $300 just on an application I might never need.

Thanks so much.

I think there is a small amount that is not refundable, but yes, if you let them know before a certain date, you get most of it back! Send it in ASAP, so you get what you want!

Is it may 1st or something?

I thought that was the date, but wasn't sure and didn't want to commit.
