<p>Is housing at Berkeley first come first serve? Also, are people who are appealing to Berkeley guaranteed housing?</p>

<p>No, housing is chosen via lottery. As long as you apply for housing by May 1, you're guaranteed 2 years (if you're a fall admit). I'm assuming the same thing would apply should your appeal be granted.</p>
