Housing for next year

<p>I am confused about how to sign up for housing next year. The website says the following:</p>

<p>December 4 - 6 - Residents who wish to keep their current space (really want to keep it or want it back if unable to get something else later on in the process).</p>

<p>December 9 & 10 - Residents who will be displaced due to changes in assignment patterns in 2014-15.</p>

<p>December 12 - 16 - Residents who wish to remain in the same residence hall or apartment complex.</p>

<p>January 16 - 24 - Residence hall residents who wish to move to another residence hall or furnished apartment. Unfurnished apartment residents who wish to move to a different unfurnished apartment complex.</p>

<p>I live in Teter this year but want to live in Union Street Center next year. I understand I sign up for this between July 16-24. Should I also sign up on an earlier and say I want to live in Teter again as a backup? I would not mind living in Teter again but I dont want to live in with the same roommate. Some help would be appreciated.</p>

<p>I am not sure where you are getting a July date, unless it is a typo and you meant Jan. It is my understanding that if my daughter wants to change dorms next year she will sign up when the housing application goes live in January, just like we did last year (currently a freshman). However I think it went it live earlier last year, if I recall the dates correct it opened on Thurs night Jan 10th, she signed up on Jan 12th. Upperclassmen can choose building but you still will be subject to your app date, not sure if that has been a problem with upperclassmen, always is with Freshman.</p>
