Housing for ppl accepted off waitlist

I think you are all confusing wait list for housing and assuming it applies to students that were accepted off the wait list for admissions.

I don't think that if you are accepted off the wait list for admissions you are automatically wait listed for housing. I think you are confused. Wait listed for housing is for students who did not accept housing at first or who opted out of housing and now want back in. that email is misleading because I THINK the way the question was posed, you implied you were on housing wait list.

I would call and talk to a human on monday and ask this "if I was accepted of the admissions wait list, am I guaranteed housing as a freshman/transfer". I bet the answer to that question is yes.

i agree. you are guarenteed housing if you are a freshman off the waitlist. you're not necessarily going to get your first choice, but then again people who get in regular might not either.

"I don't think that if you are accepted off the wait list for admissions you are automatically wait listed for housing."

Actually when I called them I stated very clearly that I was just accepted into the university from the wait list, and they said I have to apply to be on the wait list for housing anyway. You can call them if you still think I didn't pose the question clearly, if you can get any info that would help a lot.

okay, whatever you say. seems odd to offer admission w/o housing for freshman

I think you're guaranteed housing. Anyway nyu accepts too many freshmen, sticks them in housing with upperclassmen to fend for themselves, and then continues to throw their students under the bus for the rest of their college career. It's just how life at nyu works.

Straight from NYU

Housing for waitlisters - Topic Powered by eve community

OMG, DAMN I FILLED OUT THAT DAMN WAITLIST FORM BECAUSE OF CC... Gotta call tomorrow and figure it all out, but it seems like they are taking their time with the application and all... I sent in deposit last week and still there's no change

Let us know what to do if we filled out waitlist housing forms when you find out.

call them... I just did, and it seems like everything is gonna be alright. Have your N ID ready

Did you just ask to be removed from the housing waitlist?

Thank God!!

I'm not sending in a deposit until I get news of FA, though. I guess that is supposed to come out this week?

alright i called them today, they said to check NYU home's housing forms cuz it was updated to look like the other students accepted through regular decision (i saw, it's true). the housing waitlist thing will only show up if they have not received your deposit yet (you may have sent it in, but it may not have been processed yet...i sent mine in last tuesday, it was done by today)

question: if we got into NYU via waitlist, does the housing deposit deadline of June 2 still apply to us?

i received my packet on may 19, and i'm planning on sending my $800 deposit this tuesday, since monday is a holiday...by the time i receive all the materials, it's probably gonna be past june 2.

by the way, what is the housing deposit? because, in the packet i received, they asked for a combined $800 deposit that was supposedly both tuition deposit and housing deposit? (500 for tuition deposit and 300 for the housing)

Go to the NYU website. You can pay the June 2nd deposit online by credit card or check.

just checked the nyu forum... the 6/2 deadline is not in effect for those who are offered admission after 5/1

then....when's the new deadline for those offered admission after 5/1?

they said just don't worry about it... yeah, pretty vague.

so...i sent in my 800$ deposit. now what do i do? do i just wait for them to send me more forms about housing and stuff? or am i supposed to go online for housing?

once they process your deposit, you will be able to complete the housing questionaire online and also pay that big 1000.00 deposit.

My due date for $1000 deposit is June 23 and i have to go directly to the housing office for deposit. Unfortunately, Goddard wasn't there for one of the choices on the application.
