Housing for Soph, Jr. Seniors

Hi. Recently accepted to Michigan OOS and very excited. I know all freshmen get housing and there are many options. How does it work sophomore year? Does every sophomore that wants housing get housing on campus? I really don't want to live off campus in year two. In your junior and senior years I assume many go abroad or live off campus -- however, if you want to live on campus is housing available to every junior or senior that wants on campus housing. These questions don't seem to be answered on the Michigan Housing website.

Thanks.

Any thoughts for anyone?

Start figuring out your friends and possible apartment mates ASAP. You’ll be haunting craigslist come January of 2011.

For the most part, after the 1st year you are on your own.

Some people live in dorms all 4 years.

If you want, you can keep the room you had first year guaranteed, or you can choose to enter the housing lottery. Upperclassmen are given priority in the housing lottery, so it will be easier to get the rooms you want as you get older.

Yeah but if you live in Martha Cook, you’re screwed. Even though I lived there for one year and payed 10 grand, the housing people don’t even consider it. So basically as of now, I have no where to live next year. Cheers
