I am planning to transfer to either Georgetown or George Washington depending on decisions in a month or so and I was wondering how housing works for transfers in general. Most housing lotteries have taken place and such so are you just placed somewhere? Get the options left by transfer student deposit? If anyone knows that would be great. thanks

You likely get fit in where ever there’s an opening. For instance, my Ds school mainly has suites and she was put into one where there was an open spot, her other roommates weren’t transfers.

thanks i thought it worked like that. for the schools i applied to you basically have to submit your deposit that you want to attend within 2 weeks or so meaning its fairly pointless to have a first come basis for transfers.

I’m not sure about the schools to which you’re applying, but some schools have separate transfer housing available on campus. The school sites should have residential pages with all of that information.

A lot of schools don’t offer housing for transfers at all. In that case, the school may help you to find off-campus housing, or leave you to find it yourself.
