housing in Muir

so i just finished the first 3 items except the $500 prepayment on housing
and my question is.. for residental halls, do we get to choose to live in tioga or teneya hall? because i have not seen this option yet or will i eventually?

any clues about it will be appreciated =]

well those are for muir college, which i'm in as well

and actually, you're not even guaranteed in either of them, they have the right to stick you in any other college they want for rooming (lol) but that's only if they run out of space

the housing app is a general app for all 6 colleges so it would never ask you to choose between those two halls anyways...

:| awww thats not cool.. but thanks cr_book

Alas, you get to choose neither the room nor the hall you are going to live in as a freshman. And cr_brook is right, they can kick you to another college if they run out of room (they kicked me out of Muir, and I live in Revelle now...)

But, as a second year you can choose the exact room you want to live in, as well as the people that you would like to live in your apartment/suite

i have a question...on the second part of the housing application, whats the difference between appartment and residence hall?

The muir residence halls are tioga and tenaya... They are suite style living, so you would be around more people... And the residence halls are mainly 1st years.

The apartments are have fewer people living in them, and are in a separate building... The apartments also have a small kitchen. The apartments are mostly 2nd years.

Beware0fNerd, did you submit your housing app(the no fee required one) quite late like when its almost the deadline? do you think i will be guaranteed for a muir dorm if i submitted my housing app in late march just a few days after i was admitted?

I submitted my housing app in mid-April... like 3 weeks before the deadline. They told me during orientation that I was right around the cut-off for who would be sent to Revelle and who would stay in Muir. I would say that you are fine if you did it in March. And who knows, maybe there was underenrollment this year in Muir, in which case they wouldn't send anyone to Revelle... But that probably isn't going to happen. But IMO, geminian, you should be quite fine.

lol...i got to bed at 3 am every night on average...and wake up at 6:30 for school

i don't think college will be changing my sleeping habits...if anything i might get even more sleep

i see.. oh, maybe no one will be sent to other colleges this year.. because i think muir is turning all doubles into triples in residential halls this year instead of kicking people to other colleges dorm =]

mann i dont sleep until 3 or 4 am either just like right now lol

oh i see...thanks Beware0fNerd =]
