If you're on the 19 meal plan, do you have to eat all meals at your own dining hall or can you eat at other dining halls as well?

soccerfanatic, PM me for all Cardenal-related questions.

sucks to be in otero, you're gonna spend the whole year wishin you were in rinc!!

just kidding, sort of

I'm in Serra (in Stern, next to Zapata and Donner). So far I hear it's a 4-class dorm with antisocial upperclassmen, construction everywhere, and crappy food. :-/

damn...I got Adelfa in West Lag. Does anybody know the chances of freshmen getting the West Lag singles?

--If you are in Cardenal or Faisan, you are definitely in SLE.

--The chances of frosh getting West Lag singles are quite good. The problem is that you will have two people living in your single. You can't get a true single, sadly.

--Regardless of what meal plan you're on, you can eat at any dining hall for any meal. You can live in Wilbur and eat every single meal in Stern if you want, though I don't know why you'd do that.

--All Roble frosh get quads. I highly doubt you can get a single in Zapata.

--If you got into Otero, you are pretty much awesome. And extrapolating from recent trends, there is also a high probability of you becoming a Dollie or scoring top 500 on the Putnam.
If you got into Rinc, I have no comment. :P
Oh, and I second marlgirl about the awesome Otero staff for next year.

I got Donner. I guess that will be alright. BTW they are upgrading the stern kitchen this summer

im staying in cardenal right now, i got one of the really big dorms but most of them are avg sized. the first floor is meh, it has one grimy bathroom w/ a grimy shower for guys and girls. the second and third i think have two apiece.

you can eat at any dining hall. honestly, i don't recommend the 19 meal plan. i mean, are you really going to eat 3 meals a day everyday in one of the dining halls? probably not. so just get the 14 meal plan, and get more cardinal dollars. if you have to eat 15 meals one week...just sneak into the dining. it's seriously not that big of a deal. which is why i got the 10 meal plan and snuck in if i didn't have enough, which was actually not that often. once a week at the most. and i got a lot more cardinal dollars.

I made the roster all pretty. :) I'm in Cedro AKA Wilbur, and pretty stoked about it. Atticus, we're almost-neighbors.

can anyone tell me the positives and negatives about staying in donner? ive heard some things about donner and id really like someone to tell me alot of info about the dorm thanx

Do you have facebook? If so, I can give you the name of a friend of mine staying there next year - he's seems to have gathered a lot of info about Donner.

I lived in Otero and didn't visit Stern much, except for late night. But here's what I know about Donner.

Positive: all frosh, close to late night, not too big
Negative: close to late night (if you're trying to keep weight off), the fact that it's in Stern

I see there are a few Donner '10ers out there... I'll just say congratulations.

I lived in Donner last year, and it was amazing. The location is great (late night is downstairs, and you are in the middle of campus) and the house is a lot of fun. It may not be the flashiest looking dorm around, but it is definitely comfortable (and the big screen TV is a nice perk). The staff will be different from last year, but your future Resident Fellow, Linda, is one of the most awesome people ever. The dorm houses 90 freshmen: all-male on the first floor, all-female on the second floor, and co-ed on the third (that's where I lived, and it was wonderful).

I'm sure I'll meet some of you at some point next year, but feel free to ask me if you have any Donner-specific questions.

Please comment on twain in Stern!

I don't know that much about Twain (only went there a couple of times last year), but it's a 4-class dorm in Stern, which translates to good location (like Donner above). The people I know who lived there seemed to love it. All I know is that if the theme for the dorm isn't "Snakes on a Twain" next year, there will be hell to pay.

how about cedro?

Thanks, is it coed floors? Is it really that quiet?

I just found out I am in Larkin...

the people in larkin last year were excellent.
