Hey, did you guys get housing information with your acceptance letters? I didn't get anything...are they gonna send it later? :)

I heard we send in our preferences over the summer (from 08ers people who posted here).

All the practical info will be sent after RD. You'll have to be patient :)

Y'all won't get the preference forms in Approaching Stanford until late May and your actual housing assignment will arrive some time in mid August.

Question: What are the dorms like at Stanford? They didn't show us them on the tour. Please don't tell me they're like Duke's. Sketchy...

Stanford has TONS of different dorm options, so it all depends.

what's branner like? I was there over the summer and I stayed in Robinson... are all the dorms a lot like that?

There are tons of dorms at Stanford. I personally live in Lagunita Court where the rooms are smallest but we do have the luxury of an in-room sink. As a freshman you'll live in:
Wilbur (older dorm: large one room doubles, co-ed or single sex floors common bath/shower for the hall, really good dining hall, no sinks, east campus four class and all frosh)
Branner (recently renovated: mostly two room triples with comfy beds, shared bath, decent dining hall, entirely coed floors (?), overall a nice place to live for frosh, a little rowdy on the third floor though, obviously east campus all frosh)
Roble (ratty dorm: three room quads, sinks, bad dining hall-Lag, tons of people around 300+, pretty on the outside but oh so deceiving... west campus four class)
Stern (olderish dorm: similar to wilbur except the dining isn't very good if you don't like the food go to Branner or Flomo, east campus four class and all frosh)
Lag (the oldest dorm but the prettiest: small rooms, one room doubles, sinks, all four class and bad dining but the people are great, west campus)
FloMo (olderish dorm: hosts SLE program in three of its dorms, one room doubles, no sink, rooms are pretty nice despite the mediocre aesthetics of the building, food is ok, most dorms are four class except those that house SLE students, nice central location easy access to the Row where all the good parties are).
Most frosh will be on East campus as opposed to West, but don't be discouraged if you get a West campus assignment-I was at first but it's not bad when you have a bike.

Branner is the most wonderful dorm EVER. :-D It's mostly two room triples(there are a couple one room doubles and 3 or 4 singles, all the beds in one room, all the desks in the other. There's a sink in every room <- REALLY REALLY NICE so you don't have to go to the bathroom to brush your teeth, etc. Like Peachieva said, it as recently renovated, so it's GORGEOUS (google "branner hall" and do an image search). The floors are all co-ed, and yes, it can be rowdy on the third floor, but that's why they're on the third floor (the Penthouse). I live on the first floor and while I can go up there if i feel like partying, it's really nice to be able to leave and go back to my (relatively) quiet room away from drunk people when i want to sleep. I say relatively because my room in particular tends to be one people congregate to... Branner's a really really social place. I love it. And our dining is awesome, too: cheap and good, as opposed to Wilbur, which is good but super super expensive.

are we allowed to pick if we want a single, one room double or a two room triple? because i really really want a two room triple.

i am sending my enrollment card off today :)!!! i really reallllllly really want to get branner! any suggestions on how to do that?
