I am still waiting to hear from University of Delaware so I will decide between that and Penn State. Therefore I will go to an accepted students day at Udel if I get in so this will further delay my final decision.

If I attend PSU do you think I will get screwed on housing and maybe not be able to live in East Halls? If I attend I would love to live there.

I also don't want to get screwed and live with 7 or 8 other people which I have heard.

Does anyone know anything else about the situation for next year?

send in your acceptance as early as possible. there will most likely be supplemental housing again, but you probably won't have that much about not getting into east. the majority of people in supplemental that i know really don't mind it - a lot of them actually like it. Most get the option to move into regular dorms by the 2nd semester too, so don't worry about it too much.

I would send in your deposit, because $200 of the $300 is refundable. (At least it was last year...read carefully to check on the rules for this year.)

Yes, my son was seriously interested in Penn State and we deposited the $300. Then, due to some music program conflicts, he decided to go elsewhere. Penn State refunded $200 by check. But it might be different this year...read over your materials.

The earlier you accept your invitation to go to PSU, the earlier you get your pick of where to live. When I was a freshman, I gave my acceptance in mid-April and got into non-supplementary housing in East Halls.

send it back asap. this year a few hundred kids were put into supplemental. next year theyre doing construction on one of the dorms and theres over a 12% increase in the incoming class (so much that theyve had to stop accepting people to main campus). if you send your deposit back ANYWHERE near the deadline you will most definitely be living with up to 7 more people. i live in supplemental now and love it but i wasnt put into east dorms. it sucks to find out you have to live like this so i suggest if you know youre going to penn state to take care of the deposit ASAP

I sent mine in last week. Still unsure about whether I'll attend PSU or Udel, but I got the housing in so I don't have to live supplemental. I can still back out by mid June and get $200 of the $300 back.
