Housing Offer

I was offered a triple in Sunset Village. I originally wanted a res. hall, but I'm starting to like the idea of living in a plaza. Did anyone else get offered Sunset Village? What are the ups and downs to it? Also, what is the "financial aid" payment?

Where did you get your housing offer?

YES! I was wondering the same thing!

I got a triple in Sunset Village too, but asked for a res hall. I hear the plazas (especially Sunset) are very secluded and antisocial, and they’re also more expensive. I’m going to request a change to a res hall because I want the full res hall experience, communal bathrooms and all!

Elebzz check your email. Cocoabeanz I requested a hall too, but the plaza is only 800 and it is more spacious,has a shared bathroom, and ac so I decided to accept :)

The plaza is only 800 more*

I lived in Sunset Village (Courtside to be exact) my 1st year. There’s a fair amount of 1st years and transfer students. It’s indeed a little isolated but having private bathrooms was really nice. Definitely quieter than a residential hall, however I didn’t find the rooms to be that much bigger than those from a res hall. If you make an effort to go on dorm-related events/get to know your RA, attend weekly floor meetings, or try to meet people in the lounge, the structure of the floors (corridors with less rooms which are a little separated from each other, however, the buildings are all connected) shouldn’t be a problem. One good thing is that Covel, Cafe 1919, and Feast/Rendezvous are all pretty close, as well as the new Sproul dining hall slated to open.

I got Sunset Village. Double, Shared Bath.

I don’t know what type of meal plan to get now.

@Missysanoli thanks I got it

I got a triple shared bath at sunset village too! I also wanted to get a res hall, but I didn’t know that you could request a change? :o
how would you do that??

Anyone want to switch with me?! I have a triple shared bath at sunset.

@ MissySanoli

I believe the “financial aid” payment option is the “Plan G” payment plan in this chart:
[Residential Suite & Plaza Triple Room, Shared Bath Rates 2013-2014 (1004946)](http://map.ais.ucla.edu/go/1004946)

I knew it was plan g, but I didn’t know how much the payments would be once my financial aid was input. i figured it out though.
