So I was accepted to UF, but I had never really seriously considered going there until I received my scholarship the other day. Now, UF will be the most affordable school I applied to and it seems somewhat likely that I'll be going there. But since I never really seriously considered Florida until now, I didn't bother to put down the housing deposit in October or submit the housing contract that was due March 11th. If I end up going to UF, I would certainly want to dorm on campus. Can I still get on campus housing if I submit the housing contract ASAP or am I screwed?

Yes, you can still apply. You’re likely to be manually assigned to a space. You may even end up in a late application triple (I did, way back in the day, it wasn’t that bad and the rent is lower). Best to apply, ASAP.

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply!

Just a heads up - if you get manually assigned to a room, it will likely either be a late application triple room (basically a double with more furniture to barely fit an extra person) or a room in non-AC dorm. I had 1 friend who was manually assigned, and he ended up in a quad room in Thomas Hall (non-AC). But it worked out since he got good roommates, the room was really cheap, and they had 3-4 fans and an AC going at all times. However, it is an old dorm, so the aesthetics are sub-par.
