Housing question - Fall 2013?

I am a UF admit. Early february, after being admitted, I received my email with my housing contract info and deadline. My housing contract deadline for Fall 2013 was February 26th. I did not complete my contract because I was waiting to hear from other schools but I have determined that UF is the school for me. That same email says that if you miss your contract deadline (which I did), to sign up for the waitlist. My question is, how likely am I to get college housing if I put myself on the waitlist this week? Additionally, do I need to make a deposit to be on the waitlist and If I am unable to get housing, do I lose my deposit? Again, this is for fall 2013, NOT summer. Please help!!

On UF Housing Facebook people are asking these types of questions:

APRIL 3

“We will notify people on the wait list via email if we are able to offer a contract…and will notify if we are no longer able to offer contracts. Contract offers continue on the waitlist til June/July…Many factors such as cancellations, ect. We cannot predict what your odds are of getting a contract”

I do not think you pay until offered a contract, but they answer questions on the facebook page, so if you have additional, I would go there.
