Housing/Roommates

housing assignments appear on our MYHOUSING websites on June the 9th. which dorm are you hoping to get?

I'm hoping to get a single in a co-ed dorm, but a double any other way around is fine to...

It's just a room after all... lol. I'm probably going to spend most of my time out in the library or in the parks studying.

beowulf, hopefully I shall be seeing you next year in Turman west

Beowulf, eh? He was one nasty warrior. Grendel never stood a chance.

just curious, what's the fascination with single rooms. is it simply more comfortable?

In a single I can sing along with Avril Lavigne without having to worry about someone walking in on me.

haha. point well taken

Blaze, you're wonderful. I hope if my daughter doesn't get her single, she gets you for a roomate. :)

while looking at my orientation packet, i noticed that they say we won't find out who our roommates are until July 15th. i hope this is a mistake but i guess we will just have to wait until the end of the week to find out.

I think the July 15th date sounds more accurate. I would be surprised is they would be able to pair us up so quickly. I believe we will find out where we're living in June and who we are living with in July.

last summer, they put us on a learnlink conference that had the dorm, roommate, and every one else living in the dorm's name around mid july. so that sounds right. also, if you go to housing.emory.edu and click on sign up for UG housing, log in and you can see if theyve assigned you a room/roommate. that system is new this year, so that might be how theyre doing it.

According to the selection calendar, room assignments are going to be posted on June 12th

Now I am confused

and the step right before the one you posted says june the 10th.
http://www.emory.edu/HOUSING/SELECTION/fy_next.html
and here lies the confusion.

i definitely want Mctyeire but i really have no justification for this- just sometrhing nice- near center of campus with cool guys and girls to chill with.

i'm hoping for alabama mainly because it is a few feet from the DUC and really close to most classses. i'm really not looking forward to walking too far to eat breakfast in the morning.

UPDATE: after emailing the housing people, they have confirmed that they will have our dorm and roommate available on friday the 9th. i'm glad that's all cleared up now.

thanks amadani!

hmmm... still no word from housing. hope it's up soon.

I read on a the housing website that it'll be up on the 12th =(

it is today. check out the comment by the Associate Director of Residence Life on Learnlink (Housing Q&A section). On the website there are 3 different dates posted (9th, 10th, and 12th), which are not reliable.
