Housing Stern Students

So I've decided to join NYU Stern's incoming freshman class of 2015! I'm excited but I don't know a lot about housing. After looking at location and proximity of residence halls to Stern I've narrowed my choices down to:
1) Goddard
2) Hayden
3) Weinstein

I visited Goddard and I liked the whole residential college/leadership aspect but I'm concerned whether Goddard activities take up a lot of time. Also it seemed like the rooms were smaller at Goddard. I wasn't able to go into Weinstein or Hayden but our tour guide said there were pictures of the rooms online that we could see. I'm having difficulty finding these pictures so if anyone has any info on the pros/cons, size, atmosphere in these three residency halls could you let me know? Thanks

go to google and type in “nyu housing wikispaces”
they discuss the dorms in good detail

thanks…that link helped a ton :)

I visited Goddard, Hayden, and Weinstein during NYU’s admitted students weekend. I guess you saw the rooms in Goddard, so I’ll just tell you about what a few students in there told me. They said there’s a lot of activities, but that being said there are a lot of things you can branch out on your own and do. The main idea is feeling like a community. Everyone always makes time for studying and doing whatever they want. It’s great if you want to just roll out of bed to get to classes.

Hayden was ok. People generally prefer Hayden. It had average size, slightly bigger than Goddard. The rooms were kind of dark and not well lit. The room I visited had a view of a brick wall in front of it, so not that much of a view. Hayden is the biggest freshman dorm. It is a great place to meet people though and is regarded as NYU’s biggest freshman party dorm. It’s pretty close to campus also.

Weinstein is the 2nd closest freshman dorm to campus. The rooms do not have great size and are pretty small. It also does give a cinder block feel. However, it does have amongst the best dining options on campus and is very close to classes. The students say there’s good community also, depending on what floor you’re on. It has a bad rep, because of the rooms but I think the amenities sort of make up for it (dining, proximity).

In case you want more info, here’s the links although I felt the visits were a lot better than what the pictures show:
