NYU Freshman Dorms-- thoughts?

I submitted my enrollment deposit early last week but am still trying to decide on where to live. I need help ASAP! Housing deposits are due May 1st!!

So far, I know I'm definitely going to list Hayden as my first choice (b/c of its proximity to campus, its apparent social advantages, and its dining hall), but I'm not so sure about the rest. Freshmen are allowed to list 4 dorms based on preference when they apply for housing, and since I've already decided on Hayden as #1, I still have to choose another 3. Out of the remaining 6 dorms, I'm mostly considering Third North, Goddard, Rubin, Brittany, and Founders (Rubin and Weinstein are kind of at the bottom of my list). Here are my overall thoughts/concerns:

1) I definitely like Third North. I want to list it as #2, but I'm worried that it's too far from the rest of campus.
2) Founders has large rooms, is the newest of all the dorms, and is supposed to have great views, but it seems a little sterile/without personality.
3) Goddard is right at the heart of campus, but I'm not sure if I would like the whole residential college experience (it just seems a little too structured).
4) Brittany's rooms seem to be pretty nice-looking and spacious from photos.. but I haven't seen them in person. Can anyone who has either seen one in person/lived in one share their thoughts?
5) Weinstein has ugly cinderblock walls.

Overall, I'd prefer a dorm that has its own dining hall, has nicely sized rooms/good views, has a good "homey" feel, and isn't too far from campus.

So... thoughts? Recommendations based on my concerns and criteria, please! Thanks!

Can’t speak for all of them, but just some add-ons -
3N does seem far based on the map, but it’s not too long of a walk/bike. Still, you won’t be able to roll out of bed 5 min before class and make it on time, so you definitely have to be on top of things. I’ve heard its the most active dorm - lots of parties and random other students who just hang out despite the fact that they don’t live there? So it can get noisy.
I spoke to a few Goddard kids and they loved it, but it is definitely a unique environment that won’t suit everyone. There are a lot of expectations coming into it due to the type of kids who prefer a very immersed, close knit environment like that, mostly ‘Type A’ students who are very driven and motivated.
Weinstein’s walls are ugly, yeah, but the dorm overall seems pretty friendly and there’s two dining halls. I chose it as my number one because of its proximity, the food (!!!), and the fact that it seemed a little calmer than some of the other halls but still had a good vibe.

Goodluck!!

I already submitted my housing application, but i chose, 1: Founders, 2: Brittany, 3: Hayden. Honestly, being a little bit further from campus doesn’t bother me because I don’t mind walking. And, when I did my application, it made me list 6 choices or it wouldn’t let me continue. I chose Founders and Brittany as my top two because of the relatively large rooms, and I heard that Brittany is looking awesome after the renovations. Not having a dining hall is kinda a bummer though, but I doubt you’ll be eating that much on campus anyway- you have all of NYC to find places to eat!
