Is NYU's housing good?

Extremely good. The older you get though, the farther away from campus you will probably live.

Are the rooms spacious, new, and nice? Btw are there AC/Heating units in the dorms?

What's the nicest dorms for freshmen that is on campus? I want to live close to campus but also have a nice and spacious dorm. Are there doubles/triples or suites? Are the doubles big?

None of the dorms near campus are all that spacious. The best thing about NYU dorms is that you don't have to share a bathroom with everyone on your hall. Freshman year there are mostly doubles and triples (there might be a few quads) so you will be sharing a bedroom and a bathroom with only 1 or 2 other people. You should also have an ac/heating unit in the room. After freshman year the dorms get better with most have a kitchen and common area in your suite. None of them are all that spacious though except Water St. which is pretty far from campus.

As far as which freshman dorms - I don't really know cause it has been a while and everyone seemed to like their own dorm best. I lived in Goddard which was small and quiet and right on Wash Sq. There is no dining hall, but I liked the quieter atmosphere and the proximity to classes. If you want to meet lots of people and party you would be better off at Weinstein or Hayden.
