is it possible to get a suite freshmen year? not a single or anything, i just would really prefer a room with a shared bathroom and stuff. is there anyway to have a better shot?

All you can do is choose dorms that offer suite options and write that you want a suite in the comment box on your housing application. I think I heard somewhere that 10% of each dorm (except the Student Village/StuVi) is reserved for freshman. Keep in mind, however, while freshman are guaranteed on-campus housing, they are at the low end of the totem pole in terms of which type of housing they get.

1019 is all suites, and there are suites in Myles. Maybe some in South too, not sure. Although most of these places will not be filled with freshmen, so it’s not really an ideal situation in terms of meeting people. Good luck though.

IF you don’t list any large dorm on your housing survey, you might get in one of the smaller buildings, but even then it’s a crap shoot. Plus, as pointed out in another thread, with StuVi2 opening this year no one knows how that will affect housing allocations.

stuvi1 and 2 apparently are both full up already, so don’t set your hopes on that.

other than that there are suite style rooms/shared bathrooms in myles, south campus, shelton, hojo, 1019 i believe… i’m not sure about the other dorms since i haven’t visited personally. there are some dormitory style on baystate and south where you only have to share a bathroom with a few other people as well, it’s mostly the big dorms (warren, west, towers) where you have to share a bathroom with an entire floor. even though, it wasn’t that much of a problem because there are so many stalls - i think i’m having more of a problem this year sharing one bathroom with four girls since we all take forever!

The StuVi’s aren’t for freshmen anyway. StuVi 1 is juniors and seniors; StuVi 2 is sophomores and up.
