How many people in a StuVi 2 room?

Im a freshman thinking about housing for next semester and just like everyone else is trying for StuVi 2 for next year. But, I dont really know much about it so does anyone know how many people per room in the suite-style living? Like if you want a room with your friends, how many would you need to do housing with?

you can apply for any room, even if its only 2 of you for a 4 person room, you'll just have 2 random people

stu-vi2 for sophomores is 8-person suites, 2 doubles and 4 singles (i'm almost positive) and 2 bathrooms. i don't believe there's a kitchen so you'd be on the meal plan and eating at west which is right next door.

Here are the floor plans...

Boston University Housing

just click on "Dormitory-style" or Apartment-Style" under 33 Harry Agganis Way and the big plan gets more detailed.

stuvi is not open to freshman. im going to be a sophomore and im about 100 percent sure that there is no chance that ill even get it. oh well. i did tour it and its absolutely beautiful.

stuvi2 IS open to those who will be sophomores next year...which means freshmen. they can only live in suite style, not apartment style.

how easy is it to get a completely empty 4-person suite in OLD STUVI?

my friend who is a senior may pull us in with her (her housing # is the low 4000s) or my other friend who is a junior with first pick housing (hyatt last semester).

and also - is it really hard to get a single in hojo? if i don't go for stuvi i may just end up at hojo next year, but i want a single - but i heard it's even hard for internal selection ppl to get!

I thought the only singles in HoJo were for RAs?

It's pretty difficult to get rooms in the old StuVi...even with the new one built. There are around 800 spots in StuVi 1 and there will be a little over 900 in StuVi 2. That's less than 2000, and factor in the people who are juniors here now who are just going to stay...

no singles in hojo im 95% certain but there is one floor of doubles, rest are triples.

but also factor in the people who are transferring out of bu because of the high cost, as well as the people moving off campus because of the high cost

almost all of my friends who wanted stuvi1 as juniors got in. however, for anyone doing housing, i would suggest looking at the floor plans and making a list of the room numbers you want and the back-ups in the order you'd prefer them. plus, id be really shocked if that many juniors and seniors actually wanted the suite style rooms in stuvi2 because they'd still be eating at west and living in a suite with 7 other people.
