housing

i'm on the waitlist at tulane and am kind of freaking out about housing. i want to be in monroe but obviously cannot secure housing unless i am taken off the waitlist; does anyone know when they start assigning students to specific dorms? thanks!

It isn’t July sometime I am pretty sure. No worries about that. Monroe also one of the easier dorms to get assigned to as a freshman, along with Sharp. There isn’t much difference between them.

Good luck with the waitlist.

stamford (the one in CT I presume) - Waitlisted AND no housing. Ugh. If you have to be in that situation, Tulane is probably one of the better schools. There is lots of rental housing near campus. And if my D’s experience is predictive, there is a lots of room shuffling that goes on between Fall and Spring semesters.

If the only thing keeping you from Tulane is housing, PM me and I can provide you with someone who can help. Good luck with the waitlist!

I meant to say “It (housing) isn’t assigned until July sometime…”. You will find out if you get in off the waitlist before that. I think maybe NewHope doesn’t realize you will be a freshman. Freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus. But as I said, don’t worry, if you get in it will be before the housing decisions, and Monroe and Sharp are the two biggest dorms.

okay phew! lots of stress taken off. thank you both for your responses!

ps fallenchemist, as you seem to have quite a bit of knowledge about tulane, would you know what the waitlist looks like this year by any chance?

No sorry I don’t. Everything I have heard says admissions are extremely strong this year, but that doesn’t really speak to how many will get in off the wait list.
