Do you have to live in a dorm while attending here? Will it be possible for me to get an appartment while going to school here instead?

Im pretty sure from the research ive done that you HAVE to live your freshman AND sophomore year on campus. Thats pretty lame I think…

can you chance me?

Yes, technically you need to live in a dorm your Freshman and Sophomore year. However, you can claim “commuter” status if you live in an apartment I believe. You might want to call the commuter affairs office to see what the requirements for being a commuter are. But I definitely know some people do that.

My advice though: Live in the dorms. You will meet more people this way and your freshman experience will be much better. Commuters have a tough time meeting other people, and a lot of Professors assign group work and such and it’s just so much easier to live in the dorms. It’s also a great experience.

what you do if you don’t want to live in a dorm is tell them that you are living at home. give them that address and claim commuter. Actually live in your apartment though. According to the rules you are not allowed to live in an apartment until junior year but it’s easy to get around the rules. If they know that you live in an apartment off campus though they throw a tantrum.
